Drawn! is a multi-author blog devoted to illustration, art, cartooning and drawing. Its purpose is to inspire creativity by sharing links and resources. Albert Einstein said, “The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources,” but what the hell did he know anyway? The links and posts on Drawn! are written by a small group of professional illustrators, designers, and cartoonists.

Each day, Cartoon Brew brings the latest news and trends in animation to over 8,000 different artists, entertainment execs and cartoon aficionados. Animation authorities Jerry Beck and Amid Amidi — both of whom are recognized historians and published authors, with long experience in the animation industry — cover a wide range of topics, including contemporary and classic animation from around the globe, CGI, advertising, design, anime and industry/business news. Amid’s recent book “Cartoon Modern” was awarded the best film book of 2006 by the prestigious Theatre Library Association, and Jerry Beck’s “The Hanna-Barbera Treasury” won the Gold (Pop Culture category) in ForeWord Magazine’s 2007 Book of the Year awards.

Founded on July 21, 2005 the MangaCast is a information based network established as a journal covering manga as a whole. Here people can read or listen to opinions about manga from every where and from every genre for every demographic. You can listen to reviews, commentary, news and information about the medium all coming from the perspectives of a few dedicated manga lovers. It is a living discussion about manga and we invite our readers to participate in the conversation by either replying to our posts or providing content for us to share.

The purpose of this site is two-fold. First, is to share my love of manga through news, reviews and technology. I want to share my unique perspective on manga through reviews and on the news. With electronic distribution growing, manga will inevitably be affected by this as well. I will also keep up to date about all the technological aspects of manga. Second, as a mother of two girls, and already well versed in manga and related anime, I want to share my knowledge with other parents who are just finding out about these mediums. Through my own experience of raising two girls and being a part of the manga and anime culture for 20 years (give or take a few years) I will answer any questions parents may have about any genre of manga and anime, as well a my own personal insights. I will also have reviews of manga that emphasis the things that parents would be interested in, but not necessarily a manga fan.

Lately I've been enjoying doing these sort of theme months here at the ol' blog (Decmeber - 1951 King Features Christmas Cards, January - New Site Features), and this month I've decided to delve into my cartooning past and show some cartoons from when I worked on The Lance, my high school paper. My mom recently gathered and copied all of my old Lance artwork and brought it out, and now, lord help us all, I'm showing it to you.

THAT Blog is here to provide an insight into the various ongoing anime and manga series in the world. We are a diverse team blog that aims to bring you different perspectives of anime, and makes sure that good writers have a platform to expose their writing to readers who are able to interact in an intelligent manner (and sometimes fanboyish/fangirlish manner).
